چکیده
Background: Esophageal cancer is a malignancy with poor survival rate, and the optimal management of esophageal patients still controversial. This study aimed to compare one-year who had received definitive chemoradiotherapy (DCRT) or neoadjuvant plus surgery (NCRT+S). Materials Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, medical records were extracted from 2018 2019; last status was obtained one year after end treatment course. Data analyzed using SPSS (version 16), estimated by Kaplan-Meier method log-rank test. A P value less than 0.05 considered significant for all performed tests. Results: Among 43 eligible patients, 39.5% males 60.5% females. The mean age 68.16±12.03 years. population, 81.4% cases squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), rest adenocarcinoma (ADC). addition, 58.1% 41.9% treated DCRT NCRT+S, respectively. rate 68% 66.67% in NCRT+S groups, respectively (P>0.05). did not have relevance histologic subtype. terms gender, there no difference between females regarding rate. Conclusion: There statistically differences two groups; thus, further studies are recommended confirm results.

Chemoradiotherapy versus chemoradiotherapy plus surgery for esophageal cancer.
BACKGROUND Please see Appendix 4 for a glossary of terms. The outcome of patients with esophageal cancer is generally poor. Although multimodal therapy is standard, there is conflicting evidence regarding the addition of esophagectomy to chemoradiotherapy. OBJECTIVES To compare the effectiveness and safety of chemoradiotherapy plus surgery with that of chemoradiotherapy alone in people with no...

4032 Background: The strongest predictor of survival in patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer treated with primary surgical resection is stage. This study aimed to determine if surgical stage after pre-operative chemoradiotherapy predicted a similar survival pattern. METHODS Patients (n=42) received cisplatin, 5-FU and radiotherapy (RT) followed by esophagectomy. Pre- and post-trea...

Survival implications of pretreatment pelvic CT in rectal cancer patients after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and surgery.
PURPOSE To determine the correlation between pretreatment computed tomography (CT) data and survival duration after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and surgery for locally advanced rectal cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS 122 consecutive patients with advanced rectal cancer were assessed retrospectively. Pretreatment imaging and postoperative data were evaluated through Kaplan-Meier and Cox proport...
متن کاملPrediction of survival in patients with oesophageal or junctional cancer receiving neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and surgery.
BACKGROUND The value of conventional prognostic factors is unclear in the era of multimodal treatment for oesophageal cancer. This study aimed to quantify the impact of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) and surgery on well established prognostic factors, and to develop and validate a prognostic model. METHODS Patients treated with nCRT plus surgery were included. Multivariable Cox modellin...
